Description
of the Problem the Campaign is seeking to address:
Currently
our nation gets nearly half our power from dirty, dangerous coal that
is polluting our air, water and land making people sick throughout
its life cycle. Additionally, coal is the largest contributor to
global warming which threatens the security, safety and health of
people across the globe.
Description of the long-term
impact of the victory:
These campaign victories will result in
less coal being mined and burned and will reduce the negative health
impacts of burning coal in each community. Additionally,
through each campaign we engaged thousands of young people in
discussions and actions about why coal is dirty and dangerous,
helping build a generation of leaders committed to building a real
clean energy future.
